YKS ( TYT / AYT / HIGH SCHOOL SUPPLEMENT)

What is yks?

YKS, or Higher Education Institutions Exam, is an exam prepared for students who will take university exams. This exam consists of 3 separate sessions. 1st Session Basic Proficiency Test  TYT , 2nd session Field Proficiency Test AYT and 3rd session Foreign Language Test YDT. 

The first session of YKS is the Basic Proficiency Exam (TYT). This exam is the first step to enter a university in our country. TYT; It consists of 4 parts: Turkish Test, Social Sciences Test, Basic Mathematics Test and Science Test. The Turkish Test consists of 40 questions and aims to measure reading comprehension, interpretation, basic grammar and correct use of spelling rules. Social Sciences Test; It aims to measure students' knowledge and mostly interpretation skills in the fields of History (5), Geography (5), Religious Culture and Ethics/Philosophy (5) and consists of 40 questions. 

The Field Proficiency Exam (AYT) is an exam that aims to measure the knowledge of students in their own fields and is held one day after TYT. There are 160 questions in the Field Proficiency Exam (AYT), 40 of which are in Turkish, 40 in Mathematics, 40 in Social Sciences and 40 in Science. The exam is 180 minutes. Students who want to be placed in undergraduate programs that accept students with central placement should get at least 180 points in their field (This score has been 170 in 2020.)

The last exam within the scope of YKS is the Foreign Language Test (YDT). Students who want to be placed in one of the foreign language higher education programs are obliged to take this exam. In this exam, students can choose from German, Arabic, French, English and Russian languages. Students are required to specify the type of foreign language exam they want to take during the exam application process. The Foreign Language Test (YDT) consists of 80 questions and its duration is 120 minutes.
