What is SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)?
SAT  It is a standardized test for admission to universities in the United States.

The SAT exam is the university entrance exam for students who have completed their high school education in the United States. Today, the SAT exam has become an exam that has been used in university admissions from many countries outside the United States.

The SAT exam has changed from the March 2016 exam in the United States and the May exam in the world, including Turkey.

The SAT exam is an exam that every American student who wants to study in the United States must take. However, it is not an exam that every foreign student has to take in order to go to university in the USA. However, it is an exam that every international student who wants to go to a prestigious university or who aims to get an academic or sports scholarship has to take.

Which part is the most difficult for Turkish students?
Like students who have completed their high school education in many different countries of the world whose mother tongue is not English, Turkish students have the most difficulty in the Critical Reading section out of these three sections.

Turkish students perform much higher than their peers who take the exam in the mathematics department. The reason is that the mathematics education given at the high school level in the Turkish Education System is much more comprehensive than the High School Education System in other countries in terms of both the subjects covered and the intensity of the teaching.

What is SAT?

The SAT was first introduced as a college entrance exam in 1926. In the 1940s, it became the standardized examination for university entrance students and was administered to more than 300,000 students across the country. That began to change with the creation of the ACT in 1959, with the SAT being the only mandatory test for students entering college. While the ACT was a less attended test than the SAT at the beginning, this situation stopped after 2010.

What Sections Are in the SAT?

The SAT exam consists of two main parts;

  1. Evidence Based Reading and Writing
    1.1. reading
    1.2. Writing and Language

  2. math
    2.1. Math (with calculator)
    2.2. Math (without calculator)

The SAT exam, which basically consists of two parts, is divided into Reading, Writing and Language, Mathematics (with a calculator) and Mathematics (without a calculator). In addition, students can optionally take the Essay exam, which is the fifth section.

How is Score Calculated on the SAT?

The scoring of the sections is calculated on two main points systems. These; Evidence Based Reading and Writing and Math. Sections are calculated from 200-800 points. When calculating the SAT score, the scores of the two sections are added together and a total score ranging between 400-1600 points is obtained.

The average SAT score is 1068. Depending on the school you choose, the SAT score you need to get varies. A score of 1500 or higher is required to enter a top-level school, while a score of 1050 or higher is sufficient for other universities.

How Long Does the SAT Take?

The total time given for the first four sections of the SAT is 3 hours. The total time for students who will also participate in the writing section is 3 hours and 50 minutes.

What is the Fee for the SAT?

The fee for the SAT exam is $101 for students who will not take the Essay exam, and $117 for students who will take the Essay exam.

Who Can Take the SAT Exam?

High school graduates or usually high school seniors mostly take the SAT exam. The most basic criterion that the candidates taking this exam should have is to have 'upper intermediate' level of English proficiency. There is no age limit to take the exam. The SAT exam, which is held 6 times a year in most countries other than America, is generally; It is held in October, November, December, January, May and June.
